Everything on this site is general information for small-business owners. It is not legal, tax, accounting or financial advice, and it does not take account of your circumstances. Before you sign a financing agreement, talk to someone qualified who has read it.

We are not a lender, a broker or an agent of one. Nothing here is an offer of credit or a promise that you will qualify for any product.

Accuracy

We take care to get things right and we correct errors when we find them. Even so, the public records we rely on contain mistakes, rules and rates change, and we can be wrong. The site is provided as it is, without any warranty. Check anything that matters against the original source, which we link to.

The calculators give estimates. A lender's own figures, and any disclosure the law requires it to give you, take precedence.

Reusing our work

You may quote, chart and republish the figures and tables on this site, for any purpose, provided you credit The Mercantile Record and link to the page you took them from. The text of our articles, our charts as drawn and the design of the site remain ours; please do not copy them wholesale.

We link to sources and to other sites we find useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say.
